today.com How to visit a reopened hair salon: 6 mistakes to avoid ❀️ today.com Experts break down the common mistakes clients might unintentionally make on their first visit back to the salon.
[06/11/20]   Multnomah County is preparing to enter phase 1 tomorrow. What this means for you is I will begin accepting appointments! There will be some changes. I can only accept clients that have booked an appointment beforehand, no walk-ins. Waxing services are no longer available until further notice. I ask that you wear a mask when attending an appointment. Only one guest can be in the salon at a time. If you come early and see I am with someone I ask that you wait in your car or outside until I am ready for you. To comply with state regulation, I will ask you if you have experienced any flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with anyone that has. If your answer is yes, we will need to reschedule your appointment for a more appropriate date. If you are used to coming into the salon with your partner or child, I need to ask you to come in one person at a time while the other waits outside or in their car. I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes; it is what we all need to do to stay safe and keep the salon open. On my end I will be diligently cleaning and sanitizing everything between each client. I will have hand sanitizer and soap available at all times and wash my hands constantly. I will also be wearing a mask. This will look different, but it is worth it to ensure the health and safety of our community.
[05/12/20]   Hello all the beautiful people reading this! I have an update on the salons possible reopening. I know many of you thought salons could reopen this week. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Due to the size of Multnomah County, where my salon is located, it is going to take a bit longer to get everything organized. I miss you all! BUT, I am able to take this time to ensure The Alchemist Chair Salon is able to keep up with the ever-changing laws and regulations to keep us all healthy. Rest assured I have been following what I need to do in the salon to keep everyone safe. I appreciate your support. Keeping the salon closed is not easy, but it is the responsible thing to do. I will let you all know the official opening dates when I get them. Until then stay safe and well.
I know!! Reopening soon I hope!!

Keep checking back for updates. I hope this closure will end sooner than later.
[03/23/20]   Many of you may have heard Gov. Kate Brown’s announcement this morning. Salons, as well as other businesses in Oregon, are forced to close by 12:01am tomorrow morning. I am deeply saddened to write this post. I love my job and I love all of you that have supported my salon over the years. Whereas this is not a permanent closure there is currently no reopen date as per the Governor’s mandate. For those of you that have appointments this week, they will be canceled. For those of you that have pre-booked through the year, your upcoming appointments will be reevaluated each week until the salon is able to open again safely. This is a frightening time for all of us and I will miss seeing all of you until this is over. Please stay safe and know each and every one of you will be in my thoughts in the upcoming days and weeks.
[03/18/20]   UPDATE: Oregon has yet to close beauty industry businesses. This means I am still open and working by appointment. Many of you have decided to keep your appointments and I appreciate that. I want to keep you all up to date with what I am doing to ensure your visit is safe and stress-free. I have spent the day at the salon scrubbing every surface and sterilizing every tool. I have packed nonessential items (like retail products) in plastic bags and stored them. This is to make it easier for me to wipe down everything between each client. I do still have retail products for sale upon request. Facial waxing will be discontinued until further notice. I appreciate your business and want you all to know that your wellbeing is of the utmost importance to me. If any of you feel unwell or unsafe please contact me so we can reschedule your next appointment. Thank you all and stay safe!
[03/13/20]   Hi all! I want to say I realize we are in unpredictable times right now. I want to put you all at ease by letting you know what to expect at the salon for your visits. I will be at the salon by appointment. I am washing my hands and disinfecting all my tool in front of clients as well. Whereas disinfecting my tools and washing my hands has always been of utmost importance to me I am being diligent to ensure you see this too. I do not have symptoms and I have not seen anyone with any either. I just want to put this out there. If you have an appointment I will be there. If you feel unsafe or any symptoms please contact me so we can get you rescheduled. Thank you!!
