I’ve given this a LOT of thought.

I’ve decided to create a YouTube channel where I’m going to share simple, effective and efficient haircutting techniques that I’ve learned over the past 25 years of working with some of the best stylists in the world.

Techniques that I use every day!

Advanced techniques made SUPER simple.

If you’re an aspiring hairstylist, current stylist, or just someone who cuts your fams hair at home and you want to learn easy techniques you can use....

Comment below and I’ll connect ya with my page!

Side note: I’m ALSO going to be doing monthly makeovers on that channel as well as interviews with other amazing stylists so they can share their techniques too!!!
[06/25/19]   HAIR TIP TUESDAY...

Important info before you change your style up.
HAIR TIP TUESDAY

Important info before your switch up your style!
The DYSON dryer.

I did a short review on it a while ago but I’m putting together a FULL review on it now.

I’m going to spend a little time with it in the salon, test it against other dryers, determine:

- Is it faster than the others?
- Is it better at smoothing hair?
- Is it easy and comfortable to use?
- Is it worth the extra cash?

And ultimately....

Does it make SENSE for you????

Do you have any specific questions you want answered?

Have you got one?.....what do you like/hate about it?
TWO simple tips to create volume in your hair:

1. Switch the side you part your hair on.

This seems basic but it plays a huge role. Your hair will begin to conform to the way you part it. When you switch the part you get immediate volume at your roots because they are being styled the opposite direction they are conforming to.

2. The optical illusion...

The more volume you have in the sides of your hair, the flatter the top will appear as well as the other way around. So, if your crown feels flat, try looking at the sides and seeing if they can be flattened down to create the illusion of more volume on top. If you want more volume on the sides, take a look at the top and make sure it isn’t too big.
HAIR TIP TUESDAY!!

Bangs!

My 4 tips to making sure they work for you:

1. Comb on head to determine thickness

2. The longer (larger your forehead) the easier they’ll be to control due to their length.

3. Don’t cut them square outside of the crest of the eyebrows to make them easier to blend and grow out.

4. Layer the front of your hair if you want it to be easier to hide them and grow them out.

💥💥SIDE NOTE!!

I’m putting together a FREE webinar that is going to share my TOP tips that stylists AREN’T sharing about WHY your hair is thinning, breaking, and lacking volume and shape AND how to deal with it! If you’ve ever found a hair in your food and been grossed out....say “yes” 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

Hair and food typically don’t mix well in the same sentence.

BUT..I’m going to fill you in on something that many stylists aren’t talking about.

You want healthy hair?

Hair doesn’t grow from the ends..:.it grows from the roots.

Meaning it grows from inside our heads.

Which is why, if you truly want your hair to be healthy, have volume, grow quickly, be thicker...etc, what’s going on INSIDE your body is KEY!

Nutrition is equally (I’d argue more) important than topical solutions.
What you NEED to know about creating volume! HAIR TIP TUESDAY!!

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING ABOUT CREATING VOLUME IN YOUR HAIR.

💥💥MAKE SURE YOU READ TO THE BOTTOM!!! SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!💥💥

When people think of volume, they think root lift.

You’re told to use products to the roots to create more lift.

While that’s true....it’s only half the truth and you’re not being told the most important part!

First....why do you want volume? You don’t want just root lift....you actually want bend through the entire hair shaft.

Bend creates true volume and true volume creates shape.

Shape is what helps you accentuate what you want about your face shape.

So, key tip:

When you’re applying a product for volume, make sure you’re applying it to your entire hair shaft from roots to ends so you get not only root lift, but bend in your hair shaft which is what’s creating true volume and shape.

Your conditioner is drying out your hair.

One of the biggest misconceptions I find in the salon is that if you want healthy hair....you need to DEEP condition....and often.

Not true.

Just like you can over water a plant, you can over condition hair.

Best plan of action:

The conditioner you use most often should be a detangling rinse that simply help to remove tangles from your hair.

Then once a week or so, you can use a deep conditioner paired with a stripping shampoo to remove any build up from your hair, then replace any nutrients that were stripped from that shampoo and the day to day grind.

A couple of great conditioner options:

I have my own hair line and while I LOVE it (obviously), I’m NOT under any illusion that it’s the ONLY great product out there. So here are a couple of conditioners I like.

Hickox: Lite Rinse- great daily detangling rinse.

Bumble and bumble Seaweed conditioner.

Hairstory New Wash.

THE MOST DANGEROUS THINGS YOU SAY TO YOUR HAIRSTYLIST!!

Clients always ask me “If you could do anything to my hair..:what would you do?” Or “Do whatever you think would be best”.

There are two MAJOR problems with these!

1. They lead the client to believe whatever I say would be the best style for them.

THE style that would work best for their face shape, texture etc.

Fact is, the answer would purely be based on whatever I’m in the MOOD for that day. Maybe a style I just saw and really like etc.

Truth is, there are TONS of different shapes, styles and lengths that can work for you!

It’s ALL about how I use volume/shape to work with your face shape and making sure the shape fits your hair texture and lifestyle.

2. It doesn’t matter what I want to do or LOVE or think would be perfect for you....if you don’t like it.

I could explain all the amazing ways a short cut could work for your face shape, how easy it would be to style, how much time it would save you in the morning....how it would make you look 10 years younger and you’d be pissed you didn’t go short years ago!

At the end of the day, you feel even SLIGHTLY uncomfortable with short hair...go home and have a loved one say “oh, your hairs short”....any bit of excitement you had at the salon will quickly come to a crashing halt!

So...make sure before you go to the salon you have a rough idea of at least the direction you want to head and understand that it’s totally fine to say those things to a stylist you trust, but also understand that their response is an opinion based on the moment, not a style set in stone as your only option.
